This was the last of the Beer Swap test parcel beers that Mark from @realalereviews sent me.
I was all ready to post the story on the beer and the brewery as it was another place (apart from the civil war that is) I hadn’t heard of so when I looked it up on google, it was steeped in history, sadly when I returned to their website it seemed to have been hijacked by a Russian news site and I got lots of warnings from my browser and anti virus software so I bailed out.
So I will get straight down to talking about the beer, Unfortunately I don’t have much to say about the beer, after the previous 3 beers (Norton Hooky Gold ,Hook Norton Haymaker) and Cotswold Wheat Beer) this was a bit of a let down, It was flat, smelled funny and poured really cloudy, the taste was OK but nothing special, it wasn’t vinegary or bitter, it had a little bit of malt and sweetness there but nothing much else.
I don’t like bad mouthing a beer, especially one that someone has sent me but, I need to be honest, it was pretty terrible, I thought it might just be me or the bottle that I got but when I asked Mark he said the one he had turned out the same. We both hope it was a bad batch, so if you see it please try it and then let us know so we can put our mind’s at rest.
