It’s that time of year where we dust of our twadges (no not that...this), prepare our survival kits and prepare your drinking boots, Twissup is here.
All you need to do is complete the form below and we will announce the results in a couple of weeks.
If anyone has suggestions of places to visit or beery things to do in any of the proposed venues then please leave a message below or drop me an email…..See you all soon.
You can also keep up with the latest news using the #twissup tag or by following @twissup on twitter. or follow me or @markdredge. There’s also a list here too.

No one vote for the 5th November because I can’t go! As I’m organising it that would be a pretty bad day to hold it… The 12th Nov is near my birthday so I’ll buy a big round of beers if we go then!!
I also just clicked on the link to the urban dictionary definition of ‘twadge’. That’s really grim!
Hoping for the 12th too, and Newcastle even though i would like to visit more of Scotland, travel costs are a killer.
The 12th November is the London Amateur Brewers beer festival. I know a number of the beer twitter community that would want to be there.
I voted for the twelfth two as its two days after my 25th birthday!
Well if its Edinburgh, i know me and a few others round and about can put on a nice tour, just let us know how many pubs you want and numbers we need to squeeze into each.
Is it also only the Sat, as id be up for trying to organise a tasting (ie bring a btl or two) tasting on the Sunday.
Either the 8th Oct or the 12th Nov would suit me, not particularly bothered about the location as I don’t mind a bit of travelling.
I can make any of these options, so have submitted a form but haven’t ticked any preference as although I love Edinburgh as a drinking city, I haven’t been to the other two so happy to broaden my surroundings.
It would be great if there were local breweries to visit as those have been highlights of the last couple of #twissups I attended – doesn’t matter if micro or larger concerns, it’s interesting to see all facets of the beer world. If Edi wins, perhaps Caledonian might be persuaded to arrange a tour or visit?
There’s a wealth of good bars in Edi too – unfortunately my favourite, the Halfway House, would only fit about 25 people in total – but there are others that are bigger and could accommodate if we did the polite thing and gave a bit of warning – e.g. Guildford Arms, Cafe Royal, Blue Blazer, Abbotsford, Bow Bar.
I think it would also be a good idea to plan in a couple of food options so people are reminded to eat and not get too blootered to find their way home/to the station/to their hotel! There might be a few beery & food options – e.g. Illegal Jack’s burrito place serves bottled Brewdog I believe, and some other places like the Abbotsford do Scottish food and have a dining area.
Just my initial thoughts, look forward to whatever the plan is, the date (whatever one it ends up) is now reserved in my diary!
Oh also, I’m sure if it does end up being Edi, there’ll be a visit to the Brewdog bar – perhaps they could be persuaded to have some kind of event / tasting / presentation as well?
Cheers Tania!!
