I’ve been meaning to write this since I was absolutely blow away by the beer from the moment I opened the bottle, personally I think it’s probably the best IPA being brewed in the UK right now.
Automaton has two of my favourite hops in…Citra and Saaz, which combine brilliantly to provide an array of tropical fruit flavours like mango, pineapple, orange and bitter grapefruit, drinking the beer is almost like spreading tropical marmalade on a biscuit. It’s a seriously moreish beer that never gets too sweet  thanks to the lasting dryness, it’s another of those beers where one 330ml bottle just isn’t enough.
Speaking of the bottle, the branding is lovely, clean, slightly ornate and with just the right amount of information on.
If you like your IPA’s packed full of flavour without being too OTT then make sure you treat your self to a few bottles as I’m sure you won’t be disappointed, I was that impressed I’ve even included it in my top 5 beers for the Marble Arch Birthday Celebrations..keep an eye for a post on that soon along with me trying Automaton against Salopian’s latest offering Boomerang.

Absolutey bang on Andy, sadly I had my last bottle last night, but I do have a Darwins Origin chilling so not all is lost 🙂
Cheers
Good review Andy, agree with all you say, only thing I’d add is it doesn’t feel like a 7% and that its even nicer fresh from the cask! Boomerang similarly nice but perhaps “slightly less body”.
