Every now and then something unexpectedly arrives in, more often than not it’s a bill of some kind, fortuatnely this time it was something a lot more exciting…..an 8% beer from Badger, yes that’s an 8% beer from Badger, it’s not every day they release one of those.
The name comes from a local legend about some wild men with hairy bodies who wander the woodlands of Dorset,
The blend of target, Bramling cross, Golding and Boadicea hops work really well with the sweet bready, malty backbone providing a beer that is thick and viscous but toned down with the carbonation that cuts through it.
It’s unmistakably a Badger beer but not like any other I’ve tried, it will be interesting to see how it ages, I wonder if the carbonation will die down and if some of the flavours will become deeper and richer…so watch this space as I’ll write more in a few month.
I’ve also to to say I’m loving the new badger branding especially this one as I love the picture and autumnal feel.
