These might change tonight as I’ve got some tasty bottles lined up but here’s my list as it stands.
- Best UK Cask Beer – Tynebank Rhubarb and custard, followed by Truefitt Trembler and Roosters Yankee
- Best UK Keg Beer – Fallen brewery’s Chew Chew followed by Wylam Jakehead and Hawkshead NZPA
- Best UK Bottled Beer – Tough one I’ve had some really cracking bottles this year but i’ll probably say Thornbridge Bear State followed by a Toxteth IPA from Mad hatter, Summer from Moncada would have been in there but I have a feeling that I mainly drank that last year.
- Best UK Canned Beer – Roosters High Tea followed by their Baby Faced Assassin
- Best Overseas Draught – There will have been some but nothing really jumps out, I’ve mainly drank UK Brewed beers this year.
- Best Overseas Bottled Beer – Tilquin wins but Tank 7 really surprised me as did Omnipollo life is a peach and I’ve supped a lot of Jever.
- Best Overseas Canned Beer – not had many this year as I’ve mainly had UK cans, I did can some Tilquin at Indyman tho so that could win, either that or Sierra Nevada Torpedo.
- Best collaboration brew – Probably the Omnipollo Life is a peach as that was the first one that sprung to mind.
- Best Overall Beer – Roosters Baby Faced Assassin as i’ve drank so much of it.
- Best Branding – I like Cloudwater’s Art
- Best Pump Clip – Hardknott Intergalactic Space Hopper
- Best Bottle Label – , but there’s been some neat touches on lots of different labels this year.
- Best UK Brewery – Hawkshead followed by Roosters and Thornbridge as i’ve probably drank more of their beers than anyone else’s this year, flavour and consistency all the way.
- Best Overseas Brewery – Tilquin
- Best New Brewery Opening 2015 – not sure, there’s been plenty of new openings but i’ve not had enough beers from any of them to nail my colours to the mast.
- Pub/Bar of the Year – Not been out as much this year but Bacchus/Free Trade/Lady Greys in Newcastle were always great as was the Maltings in York.
- Best New Pub/Bar Opening 2015 – I’d have loved to have said one of the new micropubs in Redcar but I can’t, I did pop into Pavement Vault’s in York that was pretty cool for the short time i was in there.
- Beer Festival of the Year – IndyMan Trade session, so many people to catch up with, so little time.
- Supermarket of the Year – M&S have really upped their beer game this year.
- Independent Retailer of the Year – Lions Den in Yarm
- Online Retailer of the Year – Ales by Mail.
